the reason i went to see this movie is because i was invited by a new friend. we've recently become acquainted and i actually flaked on our first attempt at hanging out, so felt a little obligated not to say no to a movie that he wanted to watch. it's also his birthday weekend, so that added to my compliancy. however two-and-a-half hours later, i found that i really enjoyed myself.
there are moments in our lives when the message we are searching, or even waiting for, comes along when we least expect it. this story was that message and went straight to my heart and soul.
"working hard and living with pleasure. forgiving yourself. loving the family that you have around you whether they are related by blood or bonds. being unbalanced to live life in balance."
lessons that have hit home for me. lessons that may help me out of this limbo that i've felt the past several months. the answers that i've been looking for. and from a place i never imagined it would come from.
when i asked my movie buddy if he enjoyed the movie, he flatly stated "i am glad that julia roberts learned so many lessons." and in all honesty, so have i. i stood in misbelief when i exited the theater that it was 2-1/2 hours later. it didn't feel like that at all. i am glad for this little excursion out of my "comfort zone." and hopefully it is the first step in my becoming a little more....unnerved.
